WORKERS’ COMPENSATION. You may be injured on-duty from crashes, assaults, training accidents, slip and falls, exposure to hazardous substances, or occupational diseases. Your employer is required to provide medical treatment, lost-time benefits, and compensation for any permanent problems. But you must promptly notify your employer, in writing, of all work-related injuries (required within 30 days); and you must file a separate formal claim within the statute of limitations period. If you do not, your claim may be barred forever. An attorney can help answer questions and handle the process for you. Studies have shown that people who hire an attorney to represent them in a workers’ compensation claim generally receive more  money than people who represent themselves. Attorney’s fees are taken as a percentage of the settlement at the end of the claim (and we will not get involved in your case unless we believe you will be substantially better off). Call 573-303-5814 if you have been injured on-duty.

PERSONAL INJURY/WRONGFUL DEATH. If you (or a friend or family member) are injured in a crash, from an unsafe product, or otherwise due to the negligent, reckless, or intentional conduct of another, it may be possible to recover monetary damages from the at-fault party or his/her insurance company, and often without filing suit. If you are injured on-duty due to a third-party’s actions, you may have a separate claim in addition to your workers’ compensation benefits. Call 573-303-5814 if you have been injured through no fault of your own (on-duty or off-duty).
